Feb 19, 2010 - Fair enough. Youtube's commenting system really makes it hard to tell who's responding to whom.

FreedomValentine Says:

Feb 21, 2010 - There's only one moon. Cruithne is an asteroid with no bearing on the gravity of the earth. If it's a moon, then we've got hundreds of moons, temporary or not.

Jake9918 Says:

Feb 21, 2010 - @dunbar9finger You forgot to mention that the average bicycle is a great deal larger than a pylon.

dunbar9finger Says:

Feb 21, 2010 - I didn't "forget" to mention it. It wasn't relevant. Normally there's a correlation between size and which object goes around the other, but that's incidental. Even if my bicycle was orbiting a much larger object like, say, a truck, it still would not be a satellite because the motion isn't caused by the truck's gravity pulling on my bike.

Ronaldo748 Says:

Feb 22, 2010 - Good for you. You think you know more than Stephen Fry.You don't.

FreedomValentine Says:

Feb 22, 2010 - Never said that, darling. Besides, he doesn't make these things up or look them up. He just happens to know them. I'm not mad to think I'm better than Stephen Fry. I just don't accept the idea of more than one moon because moons are permanent for me.

btmemory Says:

Feb 22, 2010 - @FreedomValentine Exactly, for you. A moon is just a natural satellite, a celestial body that orbits a planet or smaller bodies. so there is more than one moon. although Cruithne is not a moon as it orbits the sun on a 1:1 ratio with the Earth. So there are loads of natural and artificial moons.

aliz4eva Says:

Feb 25, 2010 - i love QI and i love stephen fry :Dand alan :P

calvin4815162342 Says:

Feb 26, 2010 - "BECAUSE IT WAS DISCOVERED IN 1990FUCKING4"class haha

FearRain Says:

Feb 27, 2010 - I GUESSED IT RIGHT!!!

PsychoHellKat Says:

Feb 27, 2010 - @calvin4815162342 lmaoStephen is funny az when he's angry! ^^

Ikaftl Says:

Feb 28, 2010 - The best bit was later on when Stephen Fry asked "What man-made objects can be seen from the moon?"Rich Hall replied "which one?"

Nightmare060 Says:

Feb 28, 2010 - Well that answers the AC/DC Song "What's next to the moon?"

orangutani Says:

Mar 3, 2010 - Cruithne's not actually a moon. It orbits the sun in 364 days, appearing to follow the earth. However, since it doesn't actually orbit the earth itself, it can't be classed as a moon. It's a quasi-satellite at best. Sorry Stephen.

luvjwtyt11 Says:

Mar 3, 2010 - I LOVE The Restaurant At The End of the UniverseOn a closer note, I knew it was a trick question and yet still got it wrong :P

PJHoutman Says:

Mar 4, 2010 - @orangutani This was discovered after this episode, which was in 2003.

user92126 Says:

Mar 6, 2010 - there's only one moon duh

Redheadfury Says:

Mar 7, 2010 - You sir, just got owned by PJHoutman :)

krrrruptidsoless Says:

Mar 8, 2010 - It isn't within our gravity. If anything it is just being claimed that so that scientist can bet someone at the local bar. It might track in an orbit that could relate to earths orbit but it isn't an earth moon. That is why scientists need locked up. Friggin monkeys make more sense. Which is why they say were related. So they can claim some actual sense. It is a gay moon is what it is. Or should I say a closet moon not closest moon. I hate science more and more everytime they speak.Gays

TheSpankymonkey Says:

Mar 10, 2010 - Someone has been reading wikipedia ;-)

Lemmetellya Says:

Mar 11, 2010 - Can't believe QI was first aired in '93. I think I watched most series, but I thought they started in '95 or '96 . Time flies when you're having fun they say, and it seems it does.

MusicHypno Says:

Mar 11, 2010 - Cruithne doesn't even orbit the Earth, it's not a moon.

TacticusPrime Says:

Mar 12, 2010 - Yeah it's a satellite, sorta, but not actually a moon. But perhaps scientists hadn't fully mapped its orbit at the time.

Stompy1 Says:

Mar 12, 2010 - @orangutani Yeah, I had to look that up just now. What a dissappointment!

disinterestedlurker Says:

Mar 12, 2010 - Show me on the doll where the scientist touched you.
